Lee's Taekwondo Australia (LTA) was established in Canberra by well-known local Stuart Lee back in the late '80s. Training in Martial Arts since 1973, Stuart was a competitor for 20+ years. He captained many Australian teams until he retired in 1994. Stuart was the National Sports Organisations (NSO) Coach Education Director (1998-2001), Australian Team Selector and High Performance Manager (2001-2008) and was the Australian Olympic Team's Taekwondo Section Manager in Athens 2004.
In 2016 LTA opened its permanent training venue (Lee's Taekwondo Australia Family Martial Arts and Activities Centre) located in Tuggeranong. All Instructors at LTA have many years of experience either teaching and/or competing in Martial Arts and regularly update their FirstAid, CPR and Working with Vulnerable People accreditations. All LTA Black Belts become internationally certified and recognised through the Kukkiwon headquarters located in Korea.
LTA also includes a 'Student Leadership Program' where members from the age of 10 years can enter a program with a focus on developing leadership qualities and capabilities from Class Assistants to Lead Instructors. Stuart has said, "at LTA we spend time teaching students to be respectful leaders who aspire to be successful in everything they choose to do."
